Paper Plate Watermelon Slice
A fragrant slice of watermelon is tasty and wholesome. And it looks beautiful, when it is depicted in the picture. Add a new element in your still life for the kitchen – it will be a piece of watermelon.
An unusual and original technique of making such a craft will become a fascinating activity for the youngest masters, as for making the upper colored layer you will need to tear the pieces of colored paper. And it is an excellent work task for your kid!
Tools and Materials:
- 1 paper plate
- glue
- a black marker
- scissors
- red, green and black colored paper
- a brush
Step-by-step instructions:
1
Prepare a paper plate for your work. Draw a horizontal centerline on the plate with the marker. In such a way you can make 2 pieces of watermelon out of 1 plate. You can decorate one of the halves yourself as an example and then it will be easy for the kid to repeat the steps after you.
3
It is more preferable if the colored paper for making the upper layer is double-sided, so the lines of separation won’t be seen. However, if you have one-sided paper you watermelon won’t lose its originality!
Tear small pieces from the sheet. It will be better to have them rectangular, but if the kid needs them to be of different shape it will be right as well, as the little master’s opinion is very important! We need pieces of red paper most of all, and only 6 or 7 black and green items.
4
Draw the seeds with the black marker on the red pieces. A seed resembles a drop, doesn’t it? Four items for one watermelon piece will be enough, as everybody tries to choose the that has few seeds.
5
Stick red pieces of paper at the bottom of the plate. When the whole bottom is closed, stick the pieces on which the seeds are depicted on top. The marker can reveal itself on the other side, when you draw the seeds, do you can glue the small paper pieces by any side!
7
Stick green and black paper alternating colors. The rind of the fragrant fruit is finished. It is a really mouth-watering piece!
